About Us

Welcome to IDAR SAKAL SHRUT BHANDAR

Preserving and sharing the classical texts of Jainism — digitized, authenticated, and freely accessible to seekers, scholars, and the global Jain community.
We collect, restore, and publish Jain shastras and commentaries in high-quality PDF form to ensure these teachings remain available for generations.

Who Are We

IDAR SAKAL SHRUT BHANDAR is a non-profit digital library dedicated to preserving Jain scriptures, commentaries, and rare manuscripts. Our team consists of researchers, manuscript conservators, scholars, and volunteers working together to digitize, translate, and publish authentic Jain literature.

Our Mission

To preserve the spiritual heritage of Jainism by creating an open, reliable, and searchable digital archive of Jain shastras — enabling study, practice, and research worldwide while observing the highest standards of textual authenticity and reverence.

What We Do

Our 6-D Process

01.

Discover

We locate and identify valuable Jain manuscripts and printed works through collaborations with temples, libraries, private collectors, and institutions.

02.

Define

Each item is carefully cataloged with bibliographic details, provenance, condition notes, and classification for easy discovery and academic reference.

03.

Design

Conservators assess material condition, perform minimal conservation if required, and prepare manuscripts for digitization following archival best practices.

04.

Develop

High-resolution scanning captures text, paintings, and marginalia. Images are stored with secure backups and version history for preservation integrity.

05.

Deploy

Scholars transcribe, index, and proofread texts. We add critical apparatus — translations, variant readings, footnotes, and cross-references.

06.

Deliver

Final PDFs and eBooks are published with metadata and search features; rare works may be accompanied by scholarly introductions and translation notes.
